Trek for The Springboard Project. A unique children's play and recreation centre, situated in Hurst Road, Horsham, West Sussex.
The Springboard Project is a community based charity, providing safe, accessible, inclusive play and recreation facilities to young people with special needs or disabilities and families with young children, irrespective of ethnicity or status.
Eileen White & Margaret Dawson intend to trek along The Great Wall of China in April 2009. We hope to raise everyones awareness of what The Springboard Project has to offer. We plan to raise as much money as possible for the charity. This is why we have begun our fundraising early! Please click on the links on the right to keep up to date with our news. We hope to post details of our next event very soon.
Last year, Springboard applied to The Peoples Millions Lottery fund, for money to install a lift within the centre. They were in direct competition with another charity. The other charity won. They were awarded a substantial amount of money.
Springboard received nothing! This seems so unfair. It seems such a shame, that a centre such as Springboard House, which has such wonderful facilities, lost out in this way. They were hoping to provide assisitance to children and other visitors who may be wheelchair bound. A lift would enable disabled visitors access to the play facilities on the first floor. If we are supposed to promote inclusion in our society, then why are disabled children discriminated against in this way?
Please write to your local MP and ask them how they can support this wonderful local charity?

You can support us by sending donations directly to Springboard House, 52 Hurst Road, Horsham, West Sussex.
We both appreciate your support no matter how small.
Thank You
